Which cleanser is right for me?

The most important quiz you'll take today

Which cleanser is right for me?

A cleanser is a cleanser right? wrong.. making sure you use the correct cleanser for your skin type can make a huge difference in your skincare regime.

Oily and/or acne prone skin:

If you suffer from oily skin, we’re talking excess shine, greasiness, congestion and even breakouts, it is often a sign your skin is producing excess oil (no thanks).

The best cleanser for an oily skin type is a Gel Cleanser which will help to remove bacteria and excess oil to prevent your pores from becoming congested. Congested pores = breakouts (and always right before that important event). The fruit acids in our gel cleanser provide anti-bacterial properties to deeply clean and rebalance skin without drying or leaving skin feeling tight. This is important, as using a stripping cleanser can actually make oily skin…. more oily! Yep. By stripping our skin of its natural oils (though may seem like the answer) causes our skin to panic and overproduce more oil to compensate.

Use: Gel Cleanser

Dry skin:

Dry skin has the opposite issue, it’s lacking in oil. Symptoms include, tightness after a shower or washing your face, and red or flaky patches.

The best cleanser for dry skin needs to clean the skin of impurities without stripping it of vital oils. Using a gentle cleanser like our Crème Cleanser will clean your skin without stripping and leaving it feeling tight. Instead Jojoba, Macadamia, Soy Bean and Avocado Oils combine to create a blend naturally rich in vitamins, Omega oils and essential fatty acids that will lock in moisture for a smooth and hydrated complexion.

Use: Crème Cleanser

Combination skin:

Arguably the most common skin type, combination skin is a mix of both dry and oily and can fluctuate between the two at different points during the month or year. Think oily t-zone with areas of dryness (yep the works!).

An oil-based cleanser like our Cleansing Balm is a great option for combination skin to help thoroughly dissolve makeup and dirt, without drying out the skin. An oil cleanser when I have oily skin? Surely not.. ok hear us out..  Although you may hesitate at the idea of putting oil on your skin, oil actually attracts oil which means this type of cleanser can effectively remove excess sebum from the skin without removing moisture.  – win win!

Use: Cleansing Balm
